Multi-ply heat-sealable paper bags engineered for scalable retail environments. Validated for structural stability and advanced decorative finishing.
We engineer high-performance Block Bottom (SOS) bags designed to bridge the gap between industrial performance and premium retail aesthetics. Our bags feature a reinforced rectangular base for absolute shelf stability, available in 1, 2, or 3-ply structures to ensure integrity for high-volume retail environments.
Technical advantages for large-scale brands:
Millers, Tea & Coffee packers, Confectionery brands, and Dry food manufacturers seeking luxury monomaterial packaging.

Recyclability

Compostable window film options available
Integrated heat-sealable paper layer allows for secure, airtight closure on standard VFFS or bagging lines.
Elevate your brand with Cold Foil details and Soft Touch varnish for a luxury tactile experience without plastic lamination.
Certified NatureFlex™ or Translucent Paper windows provide product visibility while maintaining compostability/recyclability.
Up to 3-ply construction with optional grease-proof (KIT) papers protects against oils and external moisture.
A block bottom bag stands on its own base, so it behaves like a small carton on the shelf while staying a paper bag in the packing room. That makes it a natural fit for millers, tea and coffee packers, confectionery brands and dry food manufacturers who sell through retail and want a format that looks considered from every angle. Typical contents are flour, coffee, loose tea, sweets, pulses and other dry or semi-dry goods.
The format suits brands that are moving away from plastic laminates but do not want the pack to look like a compromise. The flat front and back panels give a clean print surface, the gussets add room for secondary information, and the rectangular base keeps the face of the bag pointed at the shopper instead of slumping sideways.
Each bag is built from paper plies, and the number of plies is the first decision. A single ply covers lighter fills and shorter supply chains. Two or three plies add stiffness and burst resistance for heavier products or longer distribution. Because the bags are heat-sealable, they can be closed after filling without a separate clip or tape.
Protection comes from the paper itself rather than from a plastic layer. We use grease-resistant papers with a KIT barrier and set the level to the product: a dry flour needs less than a roasted coffee with natural oils. The aim is a pack that stays clean through the whole retail cycle without adding materials that complicate recycling.
Printing, window cutting, ply gluing and finishing are carried out in a single production process. Keeping these steps together helps register the print to the window, keeps the plies bonded and lets us balance stiffness and softness in the finished bag.
If you are unsure where your product sits, send us a sample and a description of how it is filled, stored and sold. That is usually enough to narrow the options to one or two builds.
The bag is designed around paper. With a translucent paper window, the whole structure stays paper and can go into the paper recycling stream. Where a NatureFlex™ window is chosen, compostable window film options are available. Premium effects such as Cold Foil and Soft Touch are applied directly to the paper, so a luxury look does not require a metallised plastic laminate.
A comparable approach is shown in our work for a Lithuanian tea and coffee retailer, where a barrier paper bag replaced standard eco papers and was classified as paper (PAP 22). You can read the full story in the Skonis ir Kvapas case study.
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has applied since 12 August 2026, and recyclability is now a commercial question as much as an environmental one. Moving dry food packs from mixed materials towards paper-based structures is one practical way to prepare. Our PPWR compliance checklist for food brands sets out what should be in place, including food-contact documentation and EPR registration.
We make the bags in Vilnius and work with brands on the specification before anything goes to print: plies, barrier level, window type and finishing. If your range also includes flow-wrapped products, the same paper-first thinking applies to our PAP 22 flow-pack, which helps keep the materials consistent across a range. To discuss sizes, artwork and volumes, talk to our team.
With this information we can propose a ply structure, barrier level and window type, and come back with any questions before sampling.
They are designed for dry and semi-dry goods sold through retail, such as flour, coffee, loose tea, confectionery and pulses. The reinforced rectangular base lets the bag stand upright on the shelf, and the grease-resistant KIT barrier is set to the product so oils do not stain the outside. Millers, tea and coffee packers and dry food manufacturers are typical users.
The ply count follows the weight of the fill and the demands of your supply chain. A single ply suits lighter products and shorter routes to the shelf. Two or three plies add stiffness and resistance to bursting, which helps heavier fills keep a crisp, upright profile through transport and display. Our team can recommend a build once we know the product and how it is handled.
Yes. A translucent paper window keeps the whole bag paper-based, so it can go into the standard paper recycling stream. If you need higher clarity, a NatureFlex™ window is available, and compostable window film options can be specified. The right choice depends on how much of the product you want to show and on your own end-of-life targets.
We apply Cold Foil stamping, Soft Touch varnish and Spot UV directly onto the paper, on top of high-definition flexo printing in up to 8 colours. This gives a premium look and feel without a metallised plastic laminate. Printing, window cutting, ply gluing and finishing are done in a single production process, which helps keep print registration and ply bonding consistent.
Yes, FSC®-certified paper is available on request under our licence number FSC-C132885. Let us know at the quoting stage if you need it, together with any claims you plan to print on the pack, so the specification and artwork can be prepared accordingly. Other sourcing or documentation requirements can be discussed with our team during the project.
