Bin liners, trash bags and freezer bags leave the rewinder as tight rolls that still need a closure and a place to carry the brand. A gummed paper banderole does both jobs. It holds the roll together through packing, palletising and retail handling, and it gives you printable space for branding, usage instructions, barcodes and quality marks. Our banderoles are made for manufacturers of trash bags, bin liners, freezer bags and other industrial rolled goods who run automated rewinding lines and want to bundle without plastic tape or hot-melt.
The banderole is fed into the rewinder, wrapped around the finished roll and closed with water-activated vegetable glue. Because the adhesive is activated by water rather than heat, the line needs no hot-melt unit and the band closes paper to paper. Flatness matters most at this stage: a band that curls will misfeed. That is why the adhesive goes on as a balanced multi-layer coating, so the paper stays flat from the reel to the roll.
Before a first run we look at your rewinding equipment, for example CMD or Lememo machines, and set paper thickness and adhesive properties to match. The aim is a band that tensions and cuts correctly at the speed your line already runs.
The printed face is where the roll meets both the warehouse and the shopper. Brand graphics, product information, RAL quality marks and high-contrast barcodes can all sit on the band, so the roll scans reliably during inventory checks and reads clearly on the shelf.
The Easy-Open function combines a shaped perforation with a zone where the adhesive is deactivated. When the user pulls the tab, the tear follows the perforation and the band releases without dragging on the thin film underneath. We developed this mechanism with DEISS, a German waste management brand, prototyping several perforation geometries and adhesive patterns before the design was patented.
The same adhesive control makes double-sided printing possible. For BioBag compostable rolls we printed usage instructions on the adhesive side and neutralised the glue in selected zones, so the band sticks only to itself and not to the sticky bio-plastic.
Replacing plastic tape or hot-melt with a paper band and vegetable glue takes plastic out of the closure itself. We work with recyclable and recycled materials, and FSC® certified paper is available on request under licence FSC-C132885. Yes. Double-sided print lets you keep the front clean for branding and use the adhesive side for instructions or product information. To protect the roll, we neutralise the adhesive in selected zones so the band bonds only paper to paper. We used this approach for BioBag compostable rolls, where the tacky bio-plastic would otherwise stick to a standard label.
